Tell us a little about yourself

Just started flagging about a month ago — my flag daddy is John Wong. I attend Xavier class at Gold’s Gym on Wednesdays. Met Phillip a few years back at Gold’s Gym with Mark Miller. Sparked my interest but it took several more years till I actually started. Turning 50 this year and feeling better then ever. Looking forward to learing much, having fun, and flagging at a dance event soon.

My History

How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

I started Flaggin approximately May 2010. I became interested in actually flagging because of John Wong. Thanks Flag Daddy, aka — John Won, he has been terrically patient and tremendously helpful.

Who has inspired or taught you?

John Wong is my flagging inspiration and is the main person who has taught me. But I will have to say, I have learned much but just watching other flaggers. But, I have to say watching Phillip flag just a few feet in front of you is totally awesome and enthralling.

Do you make your own sets? Can you describe what kind you make?

I made my first set of flags at a Dye Class that Xavier Caylor sponsored. Actually I went to a small gathering at his house the night before to help set-up for the dye class. So I made my first set of flags on August 20, 2010. Recently John and I dyed flags at his house.

Where do you often like to flag?

At home in the living Room, on my rooftop deck, at the AIDS Memorial Grove in San Francisco, Flagging in the Park, and out at the clubs.
