On one of the rehearsal days, Disney and some other friends came to the stadium to watch us run through the show.
Here’s half our group, set up for the start of the performance.
And our other half. We were spread out far enough to cover the entire field.
Here we are ready for the next part of the show. I hadn’t finished making the flags yet, so we just used brightly-colored sets for this rehearsal.
It was a challenge to get a picture that showed us all at the same time, so this is a fun picture to have. How about some introductions?
There’s me, Phillip, from Dallas.
And Steve, also from Dallas.
Our good buddy Patric, another Dallas flagger.
And of course our friend Damian, completing our local contigent.
Christopher came in from Denver to join our group. This was Christopher’s second performance with us -- he also participated in Dallas Pride.
Ben from Tampa returned to Dallas to participate in the show. He and his partner Pedro came over earlier in the year for our Texas Flagger Weekend.
Jon Ericson flew in from Fort Lauderdale to partipate. I was surprised that Jon was willing to put his White Party plans on hold for us, but he saw it as a clear choice. I took that as a compliment!
Pedro, on the right, also came in from Tampa. We were happy to welcome him and Ben back to Dallas.
Here we are on our first day of rehearsals.
I have to admit that flagging on the 50-yard line in Texas Stadium was pretty exciting!
If you’re unfamiliar with Texas Stadium, it’s the one with the "hole in the roof" It never made sense to me before, but when the pyrotechnics were set off during rehearsal, I saw the advantage.
Steve plays with my "Autumn" set. This was his stand-in set until I finished the flags for the show.
