So... THIS is the audience we’re performing for...
We’re told the attendance is 65,000 people. We’re all more than a little excited...!
We hang out in the tunnel and wait for our time to enter the field.
Ben and Pedro have a moment together.
Despite his look, Patric is quite calm. ... "I don’t think my outfit has enough "bling" on it..."
Just before we go out, these beauties give us some distraction.
Here’s half our group near our starting position, awaiting the end of the first half of the game.
Disney has made it down to the first row so he has a great view of the show. I’ve been looking for him it his section, so I’m surprised and delighted to hear him call my name and find out he’s so near.
Here’s a different point of view: *This* is where we were waiting. Being on the edge of the field for such a long time was an unexpected thrill.
When either team made a big play, the entire crowd would *roar*. The sound they made would be a tangible force.
The end of the first half. The players leave the field, and we take our positions to start the show. We have several minutes in this position... (Remember how long the commercials run during televised games.)
We have lots of time to look around and see the audience. But it is also the perfect time to gather our thoughts. To center ourselves, and to remember why we are here.
For the first part of the show, we have the field almost to ourselves.
Spread out from one end zone to the other, our guys are a colorful presence across the entire field.
It’s the biggest "stage" we’ve ever had!
Then the other groups enter the field, and the show kicks into high gear.
The show is a pretty elaborate production.
And the pyrotechniques take it up another notch. During dress rehearsals, it was fun to hear them annouce that we were running the show "full pyro".
An amazing experience for all of us! Photos by Jim Roberts
