The Cowboys/Broncos football game in Texas Stadium. On the day of the show, the excitement of the event hit us all over again!
Over the past few days of rehearsals and preparation, our gathering of flaggers had really grown into a close-knit group.
We had morning rehearsal, so there was more time on the field to do some flagging and polish up the show.
Jon loosens up a bit with the "Pool" flags, our first set for the show.
Ben tries out the second set of flags for the show, the "Halftime Brights"
Usually he’s a die-hard dowel flagger, but for this event Patric decided to "spare the rod". :-)
Pedro takes a moment to let a friend know where he is right this second.
There were some other performers on the field as well. Here’s Sheryl Crow, doing her final runthrough of the songs.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were in top form.
There was also a group of color guard flaggers. A very friendly bunch, they were excited to see our flags, and find out "what kept the flags going".
Paige practices a move from their routine.
Here’s a group of rhythm gymnasts from Houston. Jon took some time to show them our sets.
It was a bit surreal to see these guys walking across the football field. They do know it’s artificial grass, right? :-)
After morning rehearsal, we found a fun place to sit and have lunch.
We still had plenty of time, so we took a walk outside to see the crowds arrive. It was also fun to get a sense of the size of the place. Our boys are over on the right, doing some people-watching.
Here’s an excited fan!
When it was getting close to showtime, we went out behind the tunnel to warm up.
The second set is almost double the size of the first, so we played with these a bit too.
"Are you SURE there isn’t a dowel in these?"
I practice my "Action Figure" stance. This one still needs some work!
