This is the first set Dan made using a folding technique he developed himself. Notice the way the colored "darts" spiral outward in different, overlapping arcs. Stationary, the design is beautiful. In motion, the set is stunning.
Another friend named this set, and now we refer to the folding technique itself as the "Chakra fold".

This set by Victor taught me something simple but not obvious...a flag design doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. The tie-dye is a very simple one, but it is impressively captivating.
One of the most flowing, light flagging sights I’ve seen was our group of flaggers at Winter Party ’05. We were on the beach with different versions of the design. The party theme was "Elements," and each element had a different color set -- the combination of all the designs together was grand.

This was the first picture I ever saw of Randy’s flags, and I was simply blown away. His style was so totally different from anything I’d seen up to that point, and I found it was both beautiful and innovative.
At first I couldn’t accept this gift from Randy--they were so beautiful, and so "definitive Randy" that it seemed as though they should remain with him. Once I realized the true nature of the gift, I was honored to accept.
These flags are ever-so-slightly smaller than I normally fly, and made of a thicker silk that has a bit of stretch to it. As a result, the design as a strong visual bounce and really likes to be flown in Randy’s style.
Which of course was an extra bonus for me, because I got to discover for myself what that was!

My very first gift set, this was also my first larger-than-normal sized set of silks.
A wonderful set of light-weight silk, these flags move just as their name implies. The design is an elegant use of cool colors and whitespace.

Shortly after meeting him, Jon presented me with this set. I was overwhelmed by his generosity -- what a nice introduction to the flagging community of San Fransisco.
This set was a challenge for me to learn. At the time I first tried them, my style was mostly strong and fast flagging. This set demands to be flown slowly and gracefully, so it inspired me to adapt and grow in my art.
It only makes sense -- to see Jon fly is to watch graceful flagging at its finest.

One of the very first sets that Jon made himself. He presented it to me at Black & Blue 05, and it was a highlight of an already amazing weekend. The fact that Jon wanted to give me his first creations was about the highest compliment I could imagine.
I couldn’t wait to find an area to spin the set. I was delighted to find that they are weighted perfectly, and fly light and effortlessly.
Jon named this set because of all the faces that can been found in the areas where the different colors blend and interact. I remember when he first showed this set to me, he was very excited and pleased with how they came out. Which meant that his giving them to me was even more meaningful.

A beautiful set with a intricate design. This is one of those cases where the flagger loves the flags even more than the creator. These silks fly so smoothly that I fell in love with them the first time I touched them.
I met Andy at Viva Las Vegas, but we both already knew each other from our creations. It was one of those happy meetings that was practically a reunion, and spending time with Andy was like reconnecting with an old friend.
