Sewing Demo

Several requests from
last year prompted us
to add a session on
sewing flags to our
schedule.

I invite everyone to
see my technique. This
is the process I’ve
developed over the
years through discussions
with friends and
LOTS of trial and error.

I’m a bit overwhelmed
by the amount of interest.

I’ve never sewn in front
of an "audience" before
-- it’s a little intimidating!

Flow Class

On Saturday morning,
students are up to take
Flow I from George.

George was part of
Flagger Weekend 1
in 2004, and we’re
delighted to have
him back.

For Saturday morning’s
session, George’s class
fills the other half of the
gym from the dye space...

Some of us peek around
the curtains to look in on
the fun!

In the second dance
area, Xavier’s flagging
classes are also
popular.

After the Saturday
morning workshops,
we all have lunch
together.

We kept adding
more tables as
more and more
people arrive.

Flow II

After lunch, it’s time
for the afternoon
sessions.

George’s Flow II
class is about moving
with emotion and
connecting with other
dancers.

Poi Flags Class

Another one of the
new additions this
year is the poi flags
class.

My goal is to teach
the class in such a
way that participants
can complete a set
of poi flags by the
end of the day.

This is trick for for
me to set up,
because my poi flag
design is still a work
in progress.

I needn’t have
worried; everyone in
the class is a delight
and we have fun
creating new sets of
poi flags.

And on Sunday it’s a
treat to to see the
guys spinning their
new sets!

Chakra Fold Tie Dye

Daniel Van Olst returns to
Flagger Weekend to teach
his popular Chakra Fold
technique.

This is an involved technique,
and Dan’s patience and advice
is appreciated by everyone.
