The tie-dye space is a big part of Flagger Weekend. Xavier, Dan, and I teach workshops on Friday and Saturday on tie-dying flags, poi, and costumes. Here, I speak with Britt about the colors mixed for the weekend.
This year we rent the Reverchon facility so we have plenty of space for all of our workshops. Out front, festive flags welcome our participants.
And signs point the way to our different areas.
RJ and Britt run the welcome center, checking in participants and passing out materials. Edward and Aaron lend a hand to help during the busy times.
Mark, Louis, and Charlie set up the ironing stations.
Serina mixes up some royal blue dye for the dye tables.
Once we get started, the ironing stations and dye tables stay packed all weekend!
Some folks use the play area while we are finishing setting up. Clockwise from left: - Play area - Sewing tables (2) - Drying rack - Dye tables (4) - Exit to steam/rinse area - Dye workshop area - Ironing tables (5, offscreen) - Chillout area
The sewing stations stay busy with people ready to finish their flags.
Outside, Jeff and Aaron have set up the steaming and rinsing area. Offscreen to the right where Amy will hold her Yoga class.
