Flagger Weekend 6 in one week – poi flags, tie-dye t-shirts, and gift bags 2 years, 7 months ago · ViewFlagger Weekend in Dallas is just a week away, and the organizers are in high
gear getting everything ready. We’ve added some items to the schedule:*** Free T-shirt tie dye – For the first time ever at Flagger Weekend, we’ll be
dying t-shirts. Thursday evening after dinner, we’ll explain the process
(different than for flags) and turn you loose on the dye tables. This is a free
workshop; just bring your own t-shirt (white, washed, 100% cotton).*** Poi Flags – We’ll have a limited number of poi flag kits, available at the
welcome center. Instructions will be given during the Friday demonstrations, so
you can dye them any time during the weekend.*** Gift bags – If you’d like to add something to the gift bags for
participants, please do! We’re preparing 50 gift bags this year and will
assemble them Thursday evening after dinner.*** And a reminder that in addition to standard sized flags, this year we’ll
have giant flag kits (45"x55" flags) and lightweight giants (45"x55 flags of
lightweight silk)Schedule and registration online now at http://www.FlaggerWeekend.com — Hope to see

April 11 FITP / Celebration of Life 2 years, 10 months ago · View~ Flagging In The Park & Celebration of Jeff Jacka’s
Life – San Francisco ~
Saturday, April 11th
AIDS Memorial Grove
Golden Gate Park
DJ Bryan Hughes
1:00 to 4PM
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Jeff Jacka, a true
“taste bud of the universe” passed away on March 29th, 2009 at his
home in Atlanta from an apparent heart attack. Jeff died while sitting in
his hot tub looking out on his beautiful garden. Blessed be.
Jeff moved to Santa
Cruz in the early 90’s and spent much time in San Francisco.
In 2005 he moved to Atlanta to help his mother and be close to his sister and
nieces.
Jeff traveled in many
circles and tribes over the years. Musically he could be found dancing with one
foot grooving in Terrapin Station and the other stomping all night long at
Pleasuredome. He loved to party with friends at Plaskett Creek every
Thanksgiving. He was a Flagger Supreme, a circuit party aficionado, Deadhead,
Burner, Pagan, world traveler, a lover of nature, even president of his
neighborhood association!
He was a very loving
man who discovered a deep spiritual sense in his later years and engaged in
many paths to touch it.
Contributions can be
made to the AIDS Memorial Grove. A memorial service will be held during the
event. Bring your flags!
Cheers,
Chuck Conner

About FITP:
In 1996 a group of San Francisco flaggers started a tradition of celebrating
life by gathering in the newly dedicated AIDS Memorial Grove. Here we are thirteen
years later; the DJs, organizers, and participants are donating their time,
energy and love to help raise money for mostly local (sometimes national)
charities.
This event is
open to all of the flow arts – fan dancing, flag dancing, poi – and their
supporters.
We’re in Nor Cal,
not balmy So Cal, this event could cancel due to severe rain. No rain
expected but you may need a sweater. If in doubt please email me back and ask, xcaylor@… -

Thank you to everyone involved in Flagger Weekend 5! 3 years, 7 months ago · ViewIt’s been an amazing, exhausting, wonderful event, and I think the
passion of everyone involved has taken Flagger Weekend to a whole new
level.I couldn’t be more pleased with our team of organizers. You guys
really dove into it, taking ownership of your areas, and helping in
more ways than you know. Our team of instructors was simply perfect. Each instructor came to
share of themselves during Flagger Weekend, selflessly offering their
knowledge and experience with the rest of the community.
Thanks go out to Patric, Xavier, George, Dan, Ben, and Amy.Our volunteers and contributors are also greatly appreciated. Whether
donating their time, hosting out-of-towners, sending in items for the
giftbags, or making financial contributions, they enriched the
experience for everyone. And of course, it’s the participants that really make an event like
this really come together and having meaning. Coming to Dallas to
share, learn, connect, and grow. Each of you has added something to
the weekend. For me, a sense of caring is a big part of any community, and I think
we have a fantastic community. We like to think of this as our tribe.Welcome to the tribe!
