How would you describe yourself as a flagger?

I like to get out there and flag any time I can. I made my first set of flags in June 2009 and take them wherever I go.


What is it about flagging that you enjoy the most?

I like to attract an audience!


How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

How did I get started:
I was in Albany, NJ with my bf in 2007 at the Waterworks bar. We met a cute flagger and he showed us both how to do it. I thought it was easy and wanted to make my own set. It was 2 years later that I found a place in NJ with an open dance floor that I could go to weekly and flag (www.switchbar.com). So I finally made my first set and now I go there weekly.


What was your first flagging experience?

My first time flagging was at Switch Nightclub in Boonton, NJ. It was June 5, 2009 and I had the dance floor to myself.

There were only a hand full of people in the place because most were away for NJ Pride weekend. It only took a few minutes for a few people to come in and watch the "strange" dancer. It was great.

A little while later someone said I looked good out there and wanted to know how long I had been doing it…. "um, 30 minutes" LOL. So I guess I knew how to fake it.

The next night a lady asked me to teach her how to do it.
