Halloween 23 Video 5 years, 4 months ago · ViewThe Halloween 23 -New Orleans Video was recently been posted, and it includes some flagging shots of the Flyboys. The Flyboys provided the flagging portion of the main show at the Saturday party that also featured cheerleaders and riflers from other performing groups. The Flyboys then came back on-stage for some free-form in blacklight after the main show (the clips are not in order).
Just follow the links on the splash page:

Flyboys Demonium Premier Video 5 years, 5 months ago · ViewThe Flyboys just premiered their new number "Demonium," and we’ve
posted video clips of it, if you’d like to see. We experimented
with incorporating other talent besides flagging into our show. In
this case we added a bit of poi, and a contortionist to open the
show (her coming out of the box fits in theme), plus some other
props. Unfortunately, a black board covers the first part of the
show, so you won’t see much of it on the video.
What was significant about this particular premier show is that it
was not part of any established event. It was simply a stand-alone
flagger show. The bar we held it at typically does not open till
10PM, and is usually almost empty until 11:30. We were able to
demonstrate that a flag-dance show can, on its own, draw a crowd.

This came on the heels of our first major foray out of Houston, to
Halloween 23 in New Orleans. There, Halloween 23 had the Flyboys
incorporate themselves into the main event show with other
perfomance groups. The youtube video below includes some flagger
clips towards the end, when on stage for the main show, and then
when on for the free form (in UV light which we requested).
Halloween 23 treated us very well and kept all their promises.

Flyboys at Houston Pride Parade 5 years, 11 months ago · ViewThe Flyboys of Flag Troupe Houston have been asked to put on a
special show for one of the four Grand Marshall floats of the
Houston Pride Parade, held the night of June 24, and have been
alloted extra time in front of the Grand Reviewing Stand ? a great
honor for our small troupe
As always, we continue to recruit flaggers to join in our
performances. Right now is a particularly good time to start if you
are brand new to flagging, as we are currently giving flagging
classes to three brand new flaggers. So, if you feel more
comfortable learning with others that are also new to flagging, now
is the time. Plus, we’ve added Saturday outdoor practices at
Buffalo Bayou Park, if a more open venue is more appealing to you.
Also, as we ramp up for Pride, you will get to see what it’s like to
be in a Flyboys show, and see if it is something you would like to
be a part of. Please check our Schedule for practice times and
locations on our website at http://www.houstonflyboys.com . If you have
any questions at all, please call me, Marco Roberts at 281-236-3308.

Thank you, Dallas 5 years, 11 months ago · ViewJust a note to thank you all, on behalf of the Flyboys, for the wonderful reception we got at the Texas Flagger Weekend; and to let you know much we appreciate all the hard work Phillip Bryan, Patrick Nast, and all the other folks in Dallas put into making the weekend a font of creative expression in color and movement, especially given the last-minute difficulties with which you had to contend. It was a mark of your concern for the experience of others that every detail was taken care of. Frankly, it was an impressive display of effort for the benefit of others. Thank you, Phillip, for your kind invitation to be a part of the warm experience you and your friends created.
But, this is not all we are grateful for. One of the characteristics that makes flagger/fan/poi subculture so special is how it gently expresses itself in a fusion of the performance and visual arts. Yet, art can only thrive when it is given a home in the hearts of creative peoples. Well, in Dallas, you guys have not only given it a home, you have built it a shining citadel – and have opened its doors to the rest of us, that we may seek comfort, companionship, and the expansion of our creative souls within it. For that, you have our deepest thanks.
