My History

How would you describe yourself as a flagger?

As a beginner, enjoying the newness of every experience.

What is it about flagging that you enjoy the most?

The spiritial energy that engulfs me. I call it my happy place.

How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

I was first instroduced to flagging in 2001, when I attended small T-Dance parties called "SkyHigh". My friend encouraged me to talk to a flagger, it was then I realized how friendly and encouraging flaggers were.

What was your first flagging experience?

On top of a rooftop venue overlooking the Los Angeles skyline – on the Sunset Strip.

What was one of your best flagging experiences?

Actually my best experience so far has been at Sundance 2004 in Guerneville, CA.

The second on my list would be Masterbeat New Years Eve 2001, which is then followed by Palms Spring White Party 2004 and cetain MASS LA parties.

Who has inspired or taught you?

I wish I knew their names becuase I have met so many friendly flaggers, who showed me some techniques. Since I stop going to clubs in late 2001, I never went often enough to practice. I guess LA is not blessed with a local flagging club other than what exist at clubs.

What was one of your wildest or craziest flagging experiences?

Trying to flag at "Trade" at the Palace in LA, way too many people – at least when I went.

Do you make your own sets? Can you describe what kind you make?

I wish I did, so far I have purchased my three different flag sets. I would like to starting making my own sets.

Where do you often like to flag?

I realized at indoor control environments, I do not do well outdoors with a breeze blowing. I have realized that cetain promoters encourage flaggers while others do not; I would rather patronize those promoters who do.

What are your favorite types of flags to work with, and why?

Silk flags since they pickup the wind better and smaller sets since they seem easier to spin to compared to larger sets I have tried.

What are your favorite flagging quotes?

I have none as of yet.

What advice do you give to beginning flaggers?

If you are luckey enough to have city which has a local flagging club, join and learns from the mentors. Flagging is a state of being, it comes from within you that gets expressed as you spin.

What nice/unusual comment has anyone said to you while flagging?
