My History

How would you describe yourself as a flagger?

Entertaining, energetic and respectful. I am never happier than when the flags are dancing to the beat and my body follows.

What is it about flagging that you enjoy the most?

Being able to share something I am passionate about with hundreds of people I dont even know.

How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

I picked up my first set of flags 8 years ago in Houston. My brother and I were taught the same day by our friend Nathan. He was kind enough to work with us for hours and before I knew it I never wanted to put them down.

What was your first flagging experience?

Being in awe at Rich’s Houston… Then insisting the next day on having my first lesson!

What was one of your best flagging experiences?

Being asked by Kristine W. to flag on stage with her.

Who has inspired or taught you?

The list is so long, but the always first in my mind are my brother Jef, the hottest straight flagger I will ever meet….Trey(Austin/Dallas), and Victor… There is no one I would rather spin with!

What was one of your wildest or craziest flagging experiences?

Flying out of Fort Lauderdale the day after Hurricane Charlie hit to flag at the Pines Party. As we took our place on the stage, the left overs from Charlie arrived at the party. Soaking wet and with the flags clinging to our bodies we were spinning like it was our last chance to ever flag…

Do you make your own sets? Can you describe what kind you make?

Soon, but until the day when my first 100% – Jon Ericksons- roll off the sewing machine I fly Victor’s designs.

Where do you often like to flag?

My original home space was Rich’s Houston. However, now I live in Fort Lauderdale and spin regularly at Coliseum, Voodoo Lounge, Crobar, and Anthem…

What are your favorite types of flags to work with, and why?

Without a doubt silks! They allow you to express emotions in so many more ways than any other fabric.

What are your favorite flagging quotes?

"That girl better slow down or she is gonna be cleared for take off!"

-or-

Announced over the PA system at Club Houston, "there is no flagging allowed inside the building, take it to the pool!"

What advice do you give to beginning flaggers?

What nice/unusual comment has anyone said to you while flagging?

"You are amazing with flags, it is very obvious that you are in your element when you are on stage!"

-or-

Last weekend a hot boy seductively asked, "Will you give me a PRIVATE flagging lesson?"

Do you have a wish for what happens to your flags after you leave this world?

I want my close friends and brother to each take 1 pair. Each one will be asked to select the set that they think I would chose to use while their favorite song is playing. I would like the majority of the remaining sets given to some up and coming flaggers not yet able to make or afford to buy their own. My two personal favorite sets would go with me…

What are your favorite songs to flag to?
