My History

How would you describe yourself as a flagger?

I am a dancer as well, so I tend to think of the flags as an extension of my body.


What is it about flagging that you enjoy the most?

I love the way flagging centres yet energizes me.


How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

I’ve been flagging for a little over 2 yrs. I fell in love with it the first time I saw the flaggers at Pleasuredome in SF. It was, saddly, the night that the pleasuredome closed. My first & last visit there.


What was your first flagging experience?

The night the Pleasuredome closed. I was transfixed by the flaggers there and felt the connection.


What was one of your best flagging experiences?

…the best is yet to come..


Who has inspired or taught you?

There are so many to thank here.. most are on this site. Thank you all. I learn more with each new encounter.


Where do you often like to flag?

I love flagging indoors under good blacklighting & ample space, but also love flagging out doors on a still day. I’m a dancer as well, so music is paramount. I try to find a place to flag where ever I am.


What are your favorite types of flags to work with, and why?

I like different types & sizes of flags for different things. Silks for slower, smooth flowing styles, synths for faster more intense flagging.


What advice do you give to beginning flaggers?

….slow it down.. let the flags do the work, they are just an extension of our bodies.


What nice/unusual comment has anyone said to you while flagging?

It looks like you’re dancing with & weaving light..

    Hi, my name is Jon Lopez and I’m inviting all flaggers to a Leather
    Fetish Fundraiser in Sacramento. Doors open a 8pm March 4th @ 20th
    street between L & K st. There will be a show from 9 -10, dancing
    till 2am, and a stage and black lights set up for flaggers large
    enough for 6 or more flaggers. NO HIP HOP HERE… trance, tribal &
    deep house only. Cover of $10 goes to Lambda ctr of Sacramento and
    Camp Sunburst,a camp for childern with AIDS. For more info &

    Hello Everyone, My name is Jon Lopez, you have probably seen my
    partner Jared and I at Fusion, and before my ex and I Richie at
    Pleasuredome, anyway I just got the title of Sacrmento Leatherboy
    and was asked to walk inn the parade this year,I saw someone with a
    pair of leatherpride flaggs, and was wondering if I could possibly
    borrow a pair to play in the parade, Leather contingent has never
    done this but I want to. So if anyone does it would be greatly
