This is a commissioned flag for a friend, Patrick. The requested colors were orange, going into purple, going into turquoise. I didn’t think orange and purple combination would work, but it did.
I used two shades of blue, four different shades of purple, orange (Dharma yellow mixed with Aljo Rhodium) and over saturated yellow dye.
I sold a flag that was a copy of a commissioned flag for my friend Nelia, SO I had to again replace it. Colors are Chartreuese, Yellow and Fuchsia. I added rosette in the middle. I have dyed 3 flags in the past three days. I am on a roll and want to keep going. Here comes the weekend and my BF is out of town. Yippee!!!
I have brought this design to George’s flag class twice and twice people have asked to buy it from me. At this point in my life I just want people to enjoy flagging, so I sold this design. It is one of my favorite flag designs. It is very simple, but very dramatic when spun. Since I liked it so much, I recreated it today, but spilled some fuchsia dye on it, so I had to make symmetrical changes to the whole flag. This is the final result. It will be debuted at two dances tonight.
I brought this set to the Black Party 2007. A flagger who admired my work on FlaggerCentral asked if he could purchase this set, so I said yes.
This was a commission and a gift for Green and Purple Flags for my friend Sandy. She really helped me get through the hard times in New Hampshire after my mother passed on Feb. 17 2007. I used Pylam Violet mixed with Jacquard Hot Fuchsia and Pylam Green mixed with Dharma yellow. Basic radial fold with colors squirted on. The design was not at all planned and was totally accidental. I did one stripe of green and one stripe of purple and realized that the design was not right. If you look closely, you can still see the original stripes. Improvisation ensued and this was the result. Sandy nicknamed them "Dragon Tails"
