My History

How would you describe yourself as a flagger?

Im a mix of high enegery to mellow and flowing, depends on what music and how it hits me. I try to incorperate a bit of dancing while I flag, and am always moviing or bobing to while I spin.

What is it about flagging that you enjoy the most?

The Fusion of visual artistry set to music, and the sense of complete freedom i have when i have a good song on

How long have you been flagging? How did you get started?

i’ve been doing it for 4 or 5 months now, i’ve seen it at clubs and circuit events, and saw Axis Danz in the Mariah Carey video, and was truly amazed. then my friend got a set, and let me borrow them in august for a while and after that i am hooked

What was your first flagging experience?

my first flagging experiance was at the Asian Xpress Grand Fete party, where i was handed Sums Don Baker flags and told go out front a cause a ruckus, it was fun

What was one of your best flagging experiences?

all of my flagging Experiances are amazing. especially when i get the chance to meet other flaggers.

I would have to say that last nite/this morning ( saturday Feb 12th and sunday feb 13th) at fly would have ot be one of my best experiances. I met a few flaggers, and one of them Andrew showed me some techniques to work on, and Brent, TO flagging god hehe, said he would be more than happy to help me with my tequniques, as well as learning how ot make my fans better, and use them to their full ability. it was truly a DEEP FLAGGING moment for me, everything felt right, and I was SOOOO feeling the music. It’s another reason why i continually go back to FLY.

Who has inspired or taught you?

i was inpired by Sum n Bud, and the other flaggers i saw during the street fair, and people i meet and see flag.

Brent Storey has been a really big help, much thanks go out to him and his advice every sat nite at Fly.

What was one of your wildest or craziest flagging experiences?

wildest was my marathon @ Fly, 3 or 4 hours almost non stop.

Do you make your own sets? Can you describe what kind you make?

I’ve got two Tye-Dyed Silk Sets.,
a few experiments
, one with Lame, another with a cotton Polyester blend.

recently made my partner and i finnished off a Gold Lame Set that FLys nicely, i can’t wait to psin them in a club.

Where do you often like to flag?

Where every i have my fans/flags and my there’s music and ppl who want to watch. Could be anywhere.

What are your favorite types of flags to work with, and why?

any type really, i love the feel of silk, but poly china practice flags are fun too

What advice do you give to beginning flaggers?

practice, have fun and be creative, and dont’ be afriad to ask more senior dancers for advice.

Most importantly: HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What nice/unusual comment has anyone said to you while flagging?

Your fans are really pretty where can i get some like that?

‘I’ve been wanting to come up and tell u, your fans are beautiful’ – Flagger @ Bento

" for someone who doesn’t have their own set yet. your getting better and better" Friend @ Signals

" That was so much Fun" – Friend who flagged for the first time after i showed him how to hold a flag"

" You are Awesome" – girl a 5ive

    Andrew,

Your fans looked great at AznExpress last night! Can’t wait until we all get our own set of flags now! Won’t we just be a sight! Welcome to flagging! Looking forward to lots of great fun, losing ourselves in the dance and the music – and then having a cold beer afterwards!
