  • I as well would like to thank everyone who allowed us to flag at nation on sat night.  I appreciate the space and effort put forth by everyone.
There definatly seems to be a group of us here in the area.  I would love it if we could all get together and maybe set up some BLACKLIGHTS and toss on some nice soulfull house and flutter alittle.  I was talking to Bernie and Kennon about the possibility of having a bbq tye-dye fest and then showing them off somewhere… any thoughts?Kennon <kennonj@…> wrote:

POST FOR SPINTRIBE MEMBERS FROM BERNIE MEENAN…Thanks to all who came out and/or supported Velvet Nation and Yiannis on Saturday night.   It was great to see you all, and I hope you all had a great time as well!  It feels like DC is on it’s way to establishing a “tribe” of some sort (NO, I”m NOT VOLUNTEERING TO START IT!!!), which is a great thing.  Regardless, I, Velvet, Yiannis, and others appreciate the go-with-the-flow, easy-to-work-with, and respectful attitudes that continue to be demonstrated by the people involved in flagging events  in DC.  Likewise, I appreciate the attention that the art of flagging has given DC within the past few years, and I’d like to thank Yiannis, Staci, Ed, etc. for giving us the chance to show that we can bring a little ”extra something” to their
events. Thanks again… and keep having fun!- Bernie

Ok, so all i can say (if you can believe it) is WOW!
(Ok so i do have more to say)  What an amazing time!  I can not believe what an incredibly fun time there was to be had!  I am so very thankful and grateful to all of you who had made this opportunity available.  I am also grateful to those who attended and shared their own uniqueness and presence!  This was the first meeting of the minds on our coast and i am very impressed with how smoothly it all ran.  I feel that there was a wealth of knowledge that was shared, and i am interested in seeing how it is put to use and interpreted in our daily lives.  I feel that the doors have been opened for future gatherings, and with the feedback from this weekend that is going to trickle in, the next one shall be even better. (if you can imagine that being possible)
I hope that everyone had a safe return to their homes! I made it safely home after a long drive (my borrowed vehicle however has another story to tell)  nothing alittle shop work and re-welding won’t fix though. I do know for sure that all the love and energy from this weekend saved my life!  I am amazed that it wasn’t alot worse than could have been.
I couldn’t have asked for this weekend to come at a better time for me.  I personally haven’t felt connected to my flaggs or fans in a long time.  I had only flagged once in about 6 months until this weekend.  I am so happy to be reconnected!  My soul really needed a little jump start and boy oh boy did it get one!
I can not express my gratitude enough to all of you who made this possible, those of you who opened your homes to strangers, those who traveled to attend, and those who just showed up!!  Without your presence it would have not been what it was, wonderful!

    Much Love,
      Amanda

FREE FORM FLAGS   7 years, 9 months ago · View

I don’t want to seem like the bearer of bad news, but i have heard from several different flaggers that Freeform Flags has gone out of business and does not have any intention of filling their orders.  If anyone would like to contact me directly i would be more than happy to give them my contact number for the owner of the company.  I am not 100% sure if they do not plan on filling orders or not but as a fellow flagger and fanner i will do what i can to help out…
I only check my e-mail about once a week so sorry if i am delayed in my responce..

You are so very welcome!  You have definatly created a site that allows one to feel like part of a “family”.  And for me that’s what it’s all about, coming together to spin the rags and have a good time!

I would like to talk of Phillip’s website, I am so
happy that someone has put together a site where
flaggers are able to create their own profile and
interact with other flaggers on a different medium.
I love spin tribe because it allows me to stay
connected with the community. The flaggerboy website
allows me to see everyone and learn more about them,
their style, what drew them to the art, and who
inspired them.. I believe that Phillip has created
    something truely beautiful!
