This was forwarded by Krishna Stone from GMHC, who is in the midst of finalizing
the 2009 WAD ceremony here in NYC. For many years, it was held at Judson
Memorial Church in The Village, but this year, it’s taking place at UCC Church.
I participated last year, and found it to be a very positive experience, and
those in attendance were touched by the energy of the fanning/flagging at the
beginning and end of the ceremony.

Hello:
I hope you are all doing well. I am seeking your superb participation again
for the World AIDS Day gathering on Tuesday, December 1, 7:00 pm at the Broadway
UCC Church on Broadway at 93rd Street. As with last year, the gathering will
begin with fanners/flaggers. This year’s opening song will be "Hold On To My
Lovin’" by Jimmy Ruffin.
At the end of the gathering, the fanners and flaggers will be joined by folks
who vogue. The closing song will be "Carry On" by Martha Wash. If you are
able to participate, please let me know. Please also extend my request to
other folks who fan/flag as our system crashed several months ago and I lost the
Outlook folder with most of the e-mails related to the 2008 gathering. L
