I am pleased to announce plans for Texas Flagger Weekend 2012! Come the weekend of March 2-4 as Dallas host a weekend of flags, fans, flow, and fun.

Saturday March 3rd 

Flagging in the Park-Dallas meets Bridge-o-Rama

Come as we celebrate the opening of the Hunt-Hill bridge designed by Antiago Calatrava with a special FITP. We be part of the official party enjoying our own space and music. Lots of festivities going on both banks and all across the bridge. Parades, art, food, music, and fireworks at night, just to name a few.

Sunday March 4th 

Tie-Dye Open Studio 1-5pm

Join us for a fun day of creativity and learning. The day begins with demonstrations. 

Then dying stations await your imaginations. Flag kits available to purchase. Or just come to observe and enjoy. Details for pre-ordering flag kits for tie-dye coming soon!

This compared to years past is a back to basics TFW with no movement classes planned. But like the last Flagger Weekend in 2009 it’s the people that attend that make the real magic of weekend. People coming together to share creativity and the artistic expression they bring is such a beautiful thing. Additional events like a Friday night meet & greet and Saturday night flagging opportunities are still being coordinated and will be announced soon.

Great news tribe! Two new events have been added to Texas Flaggers Weekend2012!

The weekend officially kicks off with a Friday night Meet & Greet at Club One. Come join in starting off the weekend with dinner and drinks with the Tribe. Then stick around afterward for the weekly Panoptikon party. Enjoy some music and flagging as Lord Byron’s guest.

Now for the gem of the weekend. After a fabulous day of F.I.T.P. at Bridge-O-Rama. Get yourself a little dinner and disco nap and get ready for Flag-A-Rama: A flag and flow dance party. Come enjoy a night designed with flaggers and flow artist in mind. This special night begins with Spin-Out: A Flow arts Showcase. An open invitation for any flow artist to come and present a performance to share with the group. This will mix directly in to the party as we enjoy the music of DJ Michele Miruski as she spins a night of  dance classics. This really rounds out the weekend nicely and I welcome any and all of you to come bring your magic and spirit to be part of this special weekend.

Enjoy a night designed with flaggers and flow artist in mind. This special night begins with Spin-Out: A Flow arts Showcase. An open invitation for any flow artist to come and present a performance to share with the group. This will mix directly into the dance party as we enjoy the music of DJ Michele Miruski as she spins a night of fabulous dance classics. $10cover with a portion of the proceeds going to the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing arts.

Sunday March 4th 

Tie-Dye Open Studio & Beginning Flagging Class 1-5pm

1333 Skiles St. Hosted by Phillip Bryan

Join us for a fun day of creativity and learning. The day begins with demonstrations by Phillip Bryan. Then dying stations await your imaginations. Silk available to purchase for $20 or silk with weights for $25(cash only please). 

The Beginning Flagging Class will be held in the adjoining Exall Park(weather permitting) Hosted by Mark Berry it will be a great opportunity for newbies to find their flow. This class is free. Come and dye some silk, learn more about flagging or just to observe and enjoy.
